Calvin Tan Gebirsgjager Caucasus Summer 1942

The latest work from Calvin Tan featured a Gebirgsjager bust in the Caucasus during Summer 1942. Gebirgsjager means Mountain Troop. They were created specifically to fight in the mountain area. They pack light equipment and use packhorses to reach areas that vehicles cannot reach.

The Gebirgsjager bust used is based on Young Miniatures German Gebirgsjager 1942. The original bust features the soldier smoking a cigarette, while Calvin version smoke with a calabash pipe that he scratchbuild from epoxy putty and wire.
