Revell Lynx Black Cat in 1/32

British Westland Lynx HAS.3 is a great helicopter. Originally designed as a utility helicopter, it has expanded use as utility, anti-armor, search and rescue and anti-submarine warfare. It is also a the world's first aerobatic helicopter. The topic for Revell 1/32 Black Cat.

The Westland Lynx is a British multi-purpose military helicopter designed and built by Westland Helicopters at its factory in Yeovil. Originally intended as a utility craft for both civil and naval usage, military interest led to the development of both battlefield and naval variants. The Lynx went into operational usage in 1977 and was later adopted by the armed forces of over a dozen nations, primarily serving in the battlefield utility, anti-armour, search and rescue and anti-submarine warfare roles.

The latest Revell helicopter model in 1/32 range is the Westland Lynx HAS.3. It comes with markings for Royal Navy Black Cat Squadron, British aerobatic helicopter squadron.

Then there is the marking scheme to choose.  The 702 NAS (Naval Air Squadron) aerobatic team, the 'Black Cats' from 2008 is certainly the most attractive, but once you look at what is a very good quality transfer sheet, the complexity of the Black Cat scheme may deter less experienced modellers.  Having said that, you always have to start on the more complex ones at some point, so why not have a go at this one.  The alternative is a more basic scheme, an aircraft from 815 NAS on board the Antarctic ice patrol vessel HMS Endurance in 2001.
